CCR Brings the Sodi World Series to Barbados in 2027
From Barbados to the World – The Sodi World Series Arrives in 2027
Cole Clarke Racing (CCR) is proud to announce its ambition to bring the world-renowned Sodi World Series (SWS) to Barbados in 2027, creating an exciting new pathway for Caribbean drivers to compete on the international stage.
For the first time, drivers in Barbados will have the opportunity to earn official SWS points, compete in globally recognised championships, and potentially qualify for the prestigious SWS International Finals alongside some of the best rental kart drivers in the world.
What is the Sodi World Series?
The Sodi World Series is the world's largest rental karting championship, connecting hundreds of thousands of drivers through a global network of affiliated karting venues. With over 700 partner tracks worldwide, more than 130,000 registered drivers, and thousands of races taking place every year, the championship has become the benchmark for competitive rental karting.
The SWS provides drivers of all experience levels with the opportunity to race competitively without owning a kart. Every official SWS race awards points that contribute towards national and international rankings, creating a clear route from local karting events to world-level competition.
How Does the Championship Work?
The beauty of the Sodi World Series is its accessibility.
Drivers simply create a free SWS account and compete at their local SWS-affiliated venue. Every official race earns ranking points, with results contributing towards both national and international standings.
Unlike traditional motorsport, there is no requirement to purchase a kart, transport equipment, or operate a race team. Drivers simply arrive and race.
As competitors build their rankings throughout the season, they have the opportunity to qualify for the prestigious SWS International Finals, where the world's best rental kart racers come together to compete for international honours.
Recent International Finals have attracted over 400 drivers from more than 40 countries, making it one of the largest and most diverse karting events in the world.
What Does This Mean for Barbados?
Bringing the Sodi World Series to Barbados would place the island firmly on the international karting map.
For the first time, local drivers would be able to earn official SWS ranking points without leaving the Caribbean. Whether competing in sprint races, endurance events, junior categories, or corporate championships, drivers would be able to compare themselves directly against competitors from around the globe.
The introduction of SWS competition would provide opportunities for:
Junior drivers beginning their motorsport journey
Adult racers seeking competitive karting
Endurance racing teams
Corporate and social racing groups
International visitors looking to race while visiting Barbados
Most importantly, it would create a direct pathway from local karting in Barbados to international competition.
A Championship with Global Reach
Today, the Sodi World Series spans Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, making it one of the most successful grassroots motorsport programmes in the world.
With more than 20,000 official races taking place annually across the network, drivers have countless opportunities to compete, improve their rankings, and pursue qualification for international events.
The championship includes a range of categories, including:
Sprint Cup
Endurance Cup
Junior Cup
Women's Cup
Master Cup
This structure allows drivers of all ages and abilities to compete in a format that suits them while remaining part of the same global ranking system.
CCR's Vision
At Cole Clarke Racing, our vision has always been to create opportunities for drivers in Barbados and throughout the Caribbean.
The arrival of the Sodi World Series would represent far more than another championship. It would provide a platform for local talent to compete on a global stage, attract international drivers to Barbados, and help establish the island as a recognised destination within the international karting community.
The combination of Barbados' world-famous hospitality, Bushy Park's outstanding facilities, and the global reach of the Sodi World Series creates an exciting opportunity for the future of motorsport in the Caribbean.
The Road to 2027 Starts Now
While work continues behind the scenes, the vision is clear.
We want to create a championship that gives local drivers international opportunities, introduces Barbados to a global karting audience, and delivers world-class competition in the Caribbean.
The dream is simple:
Race in Barbados. Earn points globally. Compete against the world.
The Sodi World Series is coming.
And in 2027, Barbados could become the Caribbean's gateway to the world's largest rental karting championship.
